Credit Derivatives and Structured Credit $110 Over the past decade, credit derivatives have emerged as the key financial innovation in global capital markets. At end 2004, the market size hit $6.4 billion (in notional amounts) from virtually nothing in 1995. This rise has been spurred by the imperative for banks to better manage their risks, not least credit risks, and the appetite shown by institutional investors and hedge funds for innovative, high yielding structured investment products. As a result, growth in collateralized debt obligations and other second-generation products, such as credit indices, is currently phenomenal. It is enabled by the standardization and increased liquidity in credit default swaps – the building block of the credit derivatives market. Written by market practitioners and specialists, this book covers the fundamentals of the credit derivatives and structured credit market, including in-depth product descriptions, analysis of real transactions, market overview, pricing models, banks business models. It is recommended reading for students in business schools and financial courses, academics, and professionals working in investment and asset management, banking, corporate treasury and the capital markets. Highlights include: Written by market practitioners and specialists with first-hand experience in the credit derivatives and structured credit market A clearly-written, pedagogical book with numerous illustrations Detailed review of real-case transactions A comprehensive historical perspective on market developments including up-to-date analysis of the latest trends |

Credit Scores, Credit Cards $11.95 By the end of 2003, consumer debt in the U.S. reached $2 trillion. By 2005, the average American may be carrying over $50,000 in consumer debt and that doesn't count mortgages or car loans. It's unsecured debt related to consumer spending. This borrowing is expensive and is fundamentally changing the way Americans live. Credit scores have become the golden keys to successful living. But what does it all mean? How do you know you're managing your credit wisely? In a credit-based economy, your credit score means as much to you as money in the bank meant to your grandparents. This book explains, in plain English, how to make sure your credit history, financial data, account information and other essentials are strong...and safe. |

Kia Sales Soar To New Heights! What Are They Doing Right? by Ronnie Tanner
Cash For Clunkers did help to increase sales for Kia Motors America, up 60+ percent from one year ago. The popular government program may have gotten potential buyers to the showroom floors, but Kia must receive the recognition for closing the sales. The Sportage and Optima led the automaker's sales for the month of August, accounting for 15,000 new sales. However, the new 2010, urban passenger vehicle, the Kia Soul and the 2010 Forte compact sedan and first ever two-door Forte Koup were also very popular purchases. The Forte replaced the Kia Spectra, which was their best selling model.
The South Korean automaker has increased its market share in the United States for 14 consecutive years because of its commitment to safe, fuel efficient vehicles at affordable prices. KMA (Kia Motors America) is responsible for garnering new interest among consumers, which began when the new, multi-award winning, Soul made its debut earlier this year. It has been named the "Top Safety Pick" by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and is among the "Top Ten Back To School Cars". Perhaps, the newest, most elite award is being named to Time Magazine's list of "Most Exciting Cars of 2010".
These new models, which offer sleek, modern designs are attracting a new band of first time Kia owners. The automaker's newest clientel, while being savvy shoppers, are sold on the more modern, upscale look and feel. They came into the showrooms with excellent credit, without a real need for a new vehicle, but ready to purchase to receive the government rebate. Power locks, power windows and mirrors, remote keyless entry, audio package with Sirius Satellite Radio, Bluetooth networking and 16 to 17 inch wheels, considered options on competitor's vehicles, come standard on the new Kia models.
In hopes of continuing the upswing in sales, the red carpet will be rolled out again for the first crossover, the new 2011 Sorento CUV. What makes this arrival even more exciting is that the CUV will be built at the all new West Point, Georgia manufacturing plant. It is the first ever to be based in the United States. The creation of these new and much needed jobs is sure to please the hard working men and women of West Point, Georgia. So, what is Kia doing right? Just about everything!
